An Automotive Project Engineer is now required at this centre of excellence based in Berkshire responsible for developing, designing and manufacturing a specialised type of automotive component. The Automotive Project Engineer will join the Product Engineering Team and be responsible for projects from initial customer contact through to serial production.
Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, as Automotive Project Engineer your role will involve both internal and external international customer liaison, design application engineering and knowledge of materials and cost as well as liaison with the manufacturing departments.
Your customers will mainly be automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM’s) and Tier 1’s both from the passenger car and Commercial Vehicle fields. This position is targeted at projects where solutions need to be developed and customer contact may need to be in German although other language skills could also be required.
Successful candidates will be educated to degree level in Mechanical engineering or hold an equivalent qualification/experience. You will also need automotive or other relevant industrial post graduate experience. Experience with CAD systems preferably ProEngineer is also necessary. The ability to speak German or other major foreign language at a business level is desirable. You will be a focused individual who is driven to succeed with good interpersonal skills.
