Job profile Mechanical Engineer (Ventilation) Job description Mott MacDonald are world leaders in the design, development and delivery of underground transportation schemes both in the UK and overseas. This work includes all aspects of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure necessary for their successful operation. Due to the increase in the demand for these services we now require a mechanical engineer (ventilation) to join our team to carry out design and project management work. The design work covers all aspects of the ventilation of the public and non-public areas of road tunnels, rail tunnels and metro systems.
The successful candidate will report to a Team Leader and be based in our Croydon office. He/she will be responsible for producing technical designs that are viable and delivered to time and budget. Some of this work will involve the use of sophistocated in-house software.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop relationships with key clients and continue to promote Mott MacDonald effectively and the services we offer.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their capabilities with a view to becoming a Team Leader.Candidate specification The candidate will ideally:
Be degree qualified in a mechanical discipline. Be a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with post qualification experience. Have proven experience in the design and management of ventilation projects. Have design experience related to road or rail infrastructure, or with a comparable industry. Have the ability to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing. Have experience with system modelling software (e.g. SES).
