Job Description

  • Delivering the Cost Engineering capability to the Major Projects

  • For ensuring the delivery of SQESH performance in accordance with the requirements of Aldermaston SQESH policy and SQESH management systems within all areas of this roles’ responsibility.

  • For implementing best practice Cost Engineering policy, processes and procedures on Major Projects.

  • For accurately identifying, controlling and forecasting the cost to complete (AFC).

  • For co-ordinating the flow of information to ensure that interfaces within projects are effectively managed to optimise efficiencies.

  • For developing, incorporating, monitoring and reporting expenditure against that planned/budgeted including variance reporting.

  • For monitoring and reporting on project performance using earned value analysis.

  • For summarising data though CBS/WBS hierarchy from detail to summary levels.

  • For developing and managing a database to capture and identify/verify estimating norms and trends, earned value and performance indicators.

  • For responding to customer feedback on Cost Engineering performance.


  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To work with and provide support for colleagues in project teams.


  • To work closely with the Planning Engineer, Estimator and Finance to provide a seamless service and no areas of overlap.


  • To develop and promote with others in the Cost Management community:


  • Best practice processes, procedures, tools and techniques and mechanisms for their practical application.


  • The highest degree pf professional application in the Cost Engineering discipline and working relationships commensurate with the ethics of the profession.
