Assistant Engineer/Technician – Geotechnics / Waste based in Maidstone

RESPONSIBILTIES:
Ability to undertake site monitoring and sampling of groundwater and leachate levels and carry out gas monitoring Ability to carry out Construction Quality Assurance duties Ability to log and desribe soil materials to relevant standards Responsible for presenting a professional company image to customers including clear oral and written communication skills Capable of demonstrating technical competence and a willingness to solve problems Adherence to Quality and Safety procedures and project specific protocols Responsible for clear and accurate record keeping and correct transmission of checked data to customers
REQUIRED SKILLS
Timely completion of tasks Accurate and detailed recording of information Flexibility between sections/site working Adherence to QHSE requirements Commercial as well as technical understanding of contracted work Valid Driving Licence essential Degree qualified preferred but not essential, candidates with previous experience as a laboratory or field technician will be considered Ability to understand and learn new duties and procedures Experience and familiarity with one or more of the defined main duties (training can be given) Clear oral and written communication skills Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team on site and in the office Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety issues on construction and landfill sites Ability to anticipate problems and offer solutions Understanding of client confidetiality and professional integrity

Salary Details
Salary £15,000 - £22,000 Company car or car user allowance 25 days holiday, plus public holidays Up to two professional subscriptions paid. Eligible to join the company’s contributory pension scheme (8% company / 4% employee) on satisfactory completion of probationary period.
