Role:
The opportunity is for a software designer to join the project team to focus on all aspects of product development based in a Linux environment. This is a collaborative research project and involves partners from UK organisations, both academic and commercial. The successful candidate will be expected to develop with the project over the next 2 years.
Responsibilities and Required Skill Set:
- Graduate with science or engineering focus and a specialism in software design
- Demonstrable experience in the Linux environment
- Cluster computing aware
- Awareness and understanding of storage principles
- S/W design capability in C/C++
- Typically 3+ years post graduate experience
Person Specification:
- The ideal applicant will be able to show evidence of successful team working across diverse groups and should be comfortable with disseminating project knowledge to partners, customers, suppliers and technical audiences in general.
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate a clear analytical mind set and a self motivated approach to timelines and deliverables.
- The role is focused on software development across the full lifecycle but the diverse nature of the project will involve the successful candidate with a range of tasks focused on the completion of the project.
