Summary of the role
To be a member of a group involved in the research and development of High Integrity Electronic Systems. To research, design, develop, analyse and verify high consequence sub-systems.
Key accountabilities
• To provide the required level of capability in the area of Weapons Electrical System (WES), including development of relevant individual and team skills • To assist in the production, management and execution of appropriate programmes to ensure that high integrity control system capability is developed and maintained

Knowledge, Qualifications Experience & Skills
• Detailed technical knowledge of developing high consequence electronic systems through a process driven approach • Highly computer literate with an understanding of analogue, digital electronics or embedded software engineering and sound working knowledge of DOS/windows/Linux is essential • Literate and numerate with report writing skills and familiarity with Microsoft office • PhD or good 1st degree in software engineering, electronics, applied mathematics or other related subject • Working towards Chartered Membership of an appropriate Institute • Demonstrable experience of developing electronic systems in a Quality Assurance environment driven by a process lead culture is essential • Demonstrate extensive experience in developing embedded systems using Systems Engineering approaches and highlight areas where they have contributed to process enhancements would be desirable • Ability to understand detailed technical specifications and requirements of Warhead Electrical Systems • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate competently at all levels. • Able to present their own and other’s work both written and orally • Self reliant and able to work within a multi-disciplinary environment, including liaison with customers and contractors
