We are a recruitment agency and we are looking for a Senior Payload RF Systems Engineer (Industrialisation) for our client based in Portsmouth. Please visit our website colbernlimited co uk for more opportunities.

Contributing as part of a multi function team, an experienced RF Systems Engineer is required to lead the RF systems engineering element of a project to standardise and Industrialise the production of communications payloads, and to carry out/support related tasks, encompassing payload system design and analysis, specification and definition of standard hardware, recording and collation of design, assembly and test processes, identification and recording of best practice and implementation of improvements through lessons learned.

The successful candidate will have:
ONC/OND or BSc qualification in a relevant discipline
A methodical approach to work, with sufficient commitment and drive complete tasks, even where adverse conditions are encountered
Strong analytical skills
Experience of working directly with customers and with the ability to present ideas and concepts to the customer with authority.
Ability efficiently to organise and co-ordinate their work.
Ability to generate innovative solutions and to communicate them
Experience and understanding of the processes and documentation associated with the design, procurement, assembly and test of complex microwave communications systems.

Specific tasks are likely to include several of the following:
Technical management and coordination of RF systems tasks on communications payloads
Work package management within schedule and budget constraints
Communications system/payload requirements analysis
Trade-offs of payload architectures and interfaces
Communications payload RF system design
Payload RF system performance analysis
Payload RF analysis process definition
Support to standard equipment specification development
Support to payload integration and test process development and specification
Collation of standards and processes to generate 'Payload Industrial files'
Liaison with other departments and participation in design reviews and meetings

Experience required:
Mandatory:
A proven track record in RF communications systems or equipments, gained in a professional position.
Desirable:
Experience in several of the following:
Technical management or team leadership gained in a systems environment
Spaceborne communications system design and analysis
Payload system design and analysis
Payload integration, validation and test
Payload equipments design/build/test (e.g. HPA, LNA's, DSP's, RF Filters, Antennas)
Digital and analogue communications
System, sub-system, and equipment specification writing
Requirements management

Team player with leadership qualities, well organised, communicative and determined, with the ability to work on their own initiative.

Tools/Equipment
Mandatory: PC literate, MS Office
Desirable: PV Wave, Visual basic, ADS

Qualifications:
Mandatory: ONC/OND in an Engineering discipline or BSc in Engineering/ Electronics/Science/Mathematics
Desirable: Higher degree in Communications/Aerospace Engineering

Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
