We are a recruitment agency and we are currently looking for an experienced Elect. Interface & Harness Design Engineer for our Portsmouth based client.
An Electrical Interface and Harness Engineer is required to fill a multi project role analysing and coordinating electrical interfaces and supporting the procurement and installation of electrical harness. You will operate in a project focused concurrent engineering teams covering the whole life of a satellite or planetary surface module from conceptual design through detail design, analysis, manufacture and test. You may also be required to support an established production line of Communications Satellites

Tasks
Derive electrical interface requirements.
Produce elaborate pin allocation and routing diagrams
Produce electrical system block and functional diagrams
Perform volt drop analysis
Evaluate component performance to specification
Input to and prepare electrical test plans and procedures and review and assess test reports
Prepare harness procurement specifications
Prepare electrical interface control documents
Perform interface compatibility analysis
Keep up to date with new harness and interface technologies and techniques and initiate and support R7D as appropriate
Provide technical support to customer and subcontractor liaison
Skills
Proven post graduate industrial experience in the Aerospace industry or equivalent
Electrical interface design and analysis expertise and good understanding of harness design and build.
Experience of commercial harness design packages is desirable but not essential
General computer skills for analysis and report writing
Cost and schedule discipline
Good communication and team working including the ability to work effectively as part of trans national and multi disciplinary teams
The ability to continue to develop expertise to cover other electrical disciplines such as EMC, rf or electrical systems
