Our Client s a global space industry leader, with world-class expertise across all sectors of the space business. The company design and build some of the world's largest and most sophisticated satellites and are involved in the assembly, integration and test of the most advanced scientific and earth observation satellites.
Our Client is seeking an engineer to become part of the assembly, integration and test (AIT) electrical department to perform electrical preparation, integration and test functions for the attitude orbit control system (AOCS) subsystem on simulators, test benches and flight spacecraft.
The successful candidate will produce test plans from test requirements, AIT plans, test procedures and test reports. In addition the engineer will perform electrical integration and testing of electronic units, subsystems and instruments, payloads for spacecraft controlling the documentation associated with performing these tasks. The definition of electrical test aids and cables, designing test equipment, overseeing the subsequent manufacture/procurement and validation, plus the production and maintenance of automatic test procedures (i.e. software) on the AOCS subsystem form a further part of the role.
The successful candidate will be familiar with a wide range of electrical/RF test and measurement equipment.
Travel overseas for short periods is required in order to operate the spacecraft electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) in support of the AIT spacecraft integration, test, environmental test and launch activities.
The successful candidate will have as a minimum HNC in an electrical and electronic engineering discipline Clear report writing and presentation skills.
Experience of Spacecraft electrical testing on prime projects is highly desirable with proven experience in the Space industry.
A knowledge of the production and maintenance of automatic test procedures (i.e. software), of AOCS, experience of AOCS S/S and Closed Loop testing, CS CGS, and UCL would be advantageous.
