This Croydon office is home to a large team ranging from infrastructure, to structures and building services. This office has close links with the London office and between them have developed a strong team with experts in a variety of specialist areas including Facade engineering and Fire Engineering.
We are looking to expand our design team and seeking to appoint an Electrical Engineer in our Croydon Office. The successful candidate will join a core multi-disciplinary engineering design team, working on a variety of high profile mixed-use, commercial, retail, leisure, further education health projects.
Job description The role will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects where you will have the ability to receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the design and construction process.
The successful candidate will: • Be responsible for the design and delivery of a wide range of projects including airports, rail, education, industrial, retail and commercial buildings. • Undertake and deliver technically complex electrical designs. • Have the opportunity to project manage engineering teams comprising building services engineers, structural engineers and civil engineers. • Take financial control of project fees. • Have responsibility to train/mentor graduates. • Understand client and market requirements. • Assist with bidding and developing the business.
Candidate specification Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills: • Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. • Near chartered or chartered Engineer. • More than 6 years design experience with a majority being within a consultancy. • Experience and exposure of a range of electrical engineering solutions in a range of project types, i.e., buildings and infrastructure. • Ability to be adaptable to various clients and projects. • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, at technical and commercial level with all levels of staff and clients (written and verbal). • Ability to be self motivated and have enthusiasm for profession.
Desirable qualifications, experience, competencies and skills: • MCIBSE or MIET qualified or equivalent. • Willing to travel locally and overseas for short term trips. • UK consultancy experience. • Project experience of railway station building services.
