Product Qualification Engineer (Electrical) - experience of compliance testing within the test and measurement industry - knowledge of circuit design and the use of test and measurement equipment - based Dover - salary £25 - 35K
We are looking for a Product Qualification Engineer to support Power and Building Wiring business units for a company that offers a wide variety of test and measurement equipment covering many applications.
The successful candidate will need to have a relevant academic qualification at degree, HND or HNC level (or equivalent) combined with proven experience ideally gained in compliance testing within the test and measurement industry.
The Product Qualification Engineer (Electrical) will need to have strong experience of using EMC test equipment and other test and measurement techniques associated with Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) and the ability to represent the Company professionally on a national and international level
Also required is knowledge of circuit design and optimum layout for EMC compatibility and a working knowledge of the use of GTEM equipment along with detailed / expert knowledge of Industry relevant standards (in particular IEC61010 and IEC61557).
Knowledge of the comprehensive use of test and measurement equipment and the ability to interpret the results and compare with the test specifications will be required
The Product Qualification Engineer (Electrical) will need strong presentation skills and the ability to deliver projects elements on time and to write concise and articulate reports as the position involves taking a leading role in the development of new product qualification testing to ensure the Company's products compliance with both internal standards and the relevant international industry standards
The ability to carry out personal development in acquiring a `knowledge base on national and international standards relevant to the company industry sector and a willingness to represent the company's interest both nationally and internationally is required as are good negotiating skills.
