We are looking for an International Business Development/Sales Manager with a track record of success in selling high value, highly technical capital equipment into the metal processing industry.
The International Business Development/Sales Manager should be commercially aware and be able to understand contracts of sale. He or she must be able to set clear goals and strategies to enable the staff working for him/her to be successful.
In addition the The International Business Development/Sales Manager should have experience in a manufacturing culture with a successful track record in the sales of high value, high tech capital equipment and a formal qualification (degree or minimum HNC or equivalent) and an engineering background.
You should have a proven and successful track record in the management and motivation of an effective sales team and be able and willing to undertake international travel as and when required for the position at the level of up to 30%. Reporting to the Sales Director and having responsibility for about 15 International Sales Engineers/ Regional Sales Managers the International Business Development/Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets and the sales department function and performance.
Key tasks will include:
* Taking responsibility for achieving sales targets * Developing new markets * Developing and using effective sales strategies * Taking responsibility for the performance of all sales staff including training requirements and annual appraisals * Supporting sales staff at all times during the sales cycle and contract negotiations * Working with the marketing manager on exhibitions, advertising and technical papers * Attending exhibitions * Chairing sales meetings * Reporting on monthly general sales activity
The person will be a team player, determined and tenacious with a work ethic that drives success. They must be organised, able to motivate, support and focus the sales team to achieve the company goals in terms of growth and profit.
