Our client specialises in providing development infrastructure solutions from planning, through to full implementation. They are seeking to recruit a Senior Hydraulic Modeller / Hydrologist to join the water team at Basingstoke.

The Water Team specialises in providing high level advice to mainly private sector clients on planning and design issues relating to Flooding Issues, as well as the detailed design of Flood Protection, SUDS, water recycling and Sewerage on Residential, Retail, Industrial and Commercial Developments both in the UK and overseas.

Your principal role will be day to day modelling, supervision of a small team, and hands on design leading to planning applications or construction drawings. You can expect to be active on a number of projects at any given time.

You will provide the technical evidence to be used at planning enquiries and disputes. A wider range of duties involving Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategy work will be given to suitable candidates.

You will be at or approaching CEng, MICE or CIWEM status and / or have a minimum of 7 years post graduate experience in river modelling, hydrological analysis and drainage design. Experience in the preparation of s105 plans for the EA and overseas experience would also be advantageous. Ideally you will be well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and Land Drainage Consents.

You should be fully conversant with the operation of ISIS, InfoWorksRS, TUFLOW software packages in addition to having a sound knowledge of FEH and WINFAP-FEH. The design of sewers using WINDES (or similar software packages) together with experience in applying Sewers for Adoption will be an advantage.

Probably from a UK Consultancy or Agency (EA) background, you will need to have good written and spoken communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
