Job Description
To project plan all potential/new business initiatives from the tender stage through to project completion. This will be affected by producing and monitoring logic linked programmes covering all stages of the project from tender through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning and successful project completion.
Responsibilities:
Provide a cost-effective and competent planning service, and when appropriate, manage and develop the Planning team to successfully achieve company, team and individual goals and objectives relating to the areas of project planning and progress/productivity measurement Successfully develop, monitor and report on logic linked planning programmes throughout all stages of the project planning cycle Liaise with appropriate Engineers to successfully plan a detailed construction programme, covering the sequence of work, key dates and labour resourcing of projects. Formulate and produce a design programme, if required, taking account of design and procurement restrictions Effectively support and liaise with the project management team throughout all stages of the project from tender to completion Effectively monitor progress and productivity against project plan, and produce clear and appropriate reports for appropriate personnel in a concise and timely manner (e.g. Manpower Histograms, 'S' Curves, Weekly Work, & Working Schedules) As required, agree the plan, and monitor the procurement of major items of materials, plant and equipment that may impact on the construction programme Conduct planning contract reviews at 25%, 50% and 75% of the programmed period in order to ascertain whether targets are being achieved and to establish/agree any corrective measures to be taken if necessary Attend progress meetings as required, both internal and external, to review and report on the progress being made on the project Successfully conduct the testing and commissioning of projects by the professional outlining/definition of logical sequences which successfully co-ordinate all specialists to achieve overall commissioning programmes Maintain highest levels of commercial confidentiality in all aspects of employment Any other duties as required
Qualifications:
Ideally educated to HNC level (or equivalent) standard in a relevant subject Previous experience working within a building services environment is essential. Must be able to logically sequence events, and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, together with a common sense and flexible approach.
