Our client is a leading global engineering, construction and services company supporting the energy, petrochemicals, government services and civil infrastructure sectors. The company is a leader in many of the growing end-markets it serves, particularly gas monetization, having designed and constructed, alone or with joint venture partners, more than half of the world's operating liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity over the past 30 years.
Under direction from the Project Engineering Manager the Lead Piping Engineer shall be responsible and accountable for all functions performed by the Piping group. Provide supervision and technical direction for all piping personnel which may include personnel across multiple execution centres and fabrication/ construction sites. The Piping Lead Engineer shall ensure a safe, efficient plant design developed to comply with agreed project codes and good engineering practices. Meet all requirements of the project Design Basis and specifications, whilst minimising risk to personnel in construction, commissioning and operation. Duties include the following: Determine the piping scope of work and input into the development of the project execution plan. Develop man-hour estimates and CTR's, review with Engineering Management for approval and submission to the Project. Develop and maintain the piping deliverable plan in conjunction with fabrication requirements. Ensure all assigned personnel are aware of the requirements of the project schedule and their role in timely delivery of the piping scope of work. Identify the project piping organisation and establish need dates for assignment of all personnel, including mobilisation of computer hardware/ software and any training requirements. Initiate the development of and approve, project specific work methods and procedures, piping standards and specifications to ensure quality control is maintained. Identify and define any specific construction design deliverable requirements, including instructional notes, through discussion with Fabricator representatives. Monitor quality control checking of construction deliverable process. Organise and chair regular piping discipline meetings, to be attended by key members of the group. Deliver any ‘town hall' style presentations to the larger group if required, to download specific project, Safety or Corporate information. Facilitate periodic design reviews including formal 3D model presentations Maintain contact with the Client, third party and other discipline Leads to assure accurate, timely communications and flow of information is taking place. Develop and present recommendations for valve and bulk material procurement, inspection, identification, certification and expediting to Project. Monitor and control discipline budget/ schedule, including man-hour expenditure/ time entry approval and report progress, including any issues and concerns, to project and discipline management at regular pre-determined intervals. Coordinate fabrication and field construction enquiries/ technical queries for resolution. Report discipline performance to Corporate Discipline manager. |
