My client is seeking a Highways Technician for their Basingstoke office.
Your role will be to support in identifying needs and providing cost effective technical solutions to maintain or improve the highway asset to the standards agreed between the Technical Director: Design and the Client to the budget and programme agreed with the Delivery Teams.
Where a technician is under training: to seek every opportunity to gain experience in and extend knowledge of the civil engineering profession with the aim of becoming qualified at the earliest opportunity.
To support in the delivery of highways schemes as well as help provide highways advice to deliver the outcomes agreed to the programmes and budgets agreed with the Delivery Teams.
To provide Professional and Technical Excellence in highway engineering.
To identify alternative solutions to schemes that need to be considered.
To become professionally qualified.
Appropriate qualification in Civil Engineer to qualify for Incorporated Engineer, or be training towards this qualification.
Experience (preferably with some in HA Area maintenance)
Some knowledge of highway design codes
Knowledge of the use of basic computer office and design packages
