£37k-£43,360 (dependent upon experience) based in Aldermaston, Berkshire
Key accountabilities • Ensure delegated duties of the Design Authority for the discipline as requested by Head of Civil Structural and Architectural are carried out • Ensure adequate monitoring of engineering configuration changes for ‘architecture’ on behalf of the Design Authority. • Ensure Review Learn and Improve (RLI) exercises are carried out for ‘architecture’ and demonstrate compliance with Project Book and Project Process. • Ensure the preparation and delivery of ‘architectural’ design solutions, which fully comply with all applicable Legislation, British Standards and client Documentation to an agreed time, cost and quality. • Ensure compliance, in all activities undertaken, with Company Security, Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health (SQESH) requirements. • Ensure duties of design in relation to Construction, Design and Management Regulations and other relevant regulations are executed. • Ensure ‘architectural’ design tasks as allocated by Engineering Managers are delivered with appropriate designs and to agreed time, cost and quality requirements • To deliver work packages and design solutions that fully comply with SQESH, all applicable current and foreseeable forthcoming Legislation, British Standards and client Design Standards Responsibilities To ensure that responsibilities with regard to the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards are met and understood • Attend design reviews as directed as the ‘architectural’ representative for projects of a multidisciplinary nature including capital investment schemes and minor works. • Design Review Team Leader (DRTL). Generally you will chair multi-disciplinary design reviews including those predominantly of an ‘architectural’ nature. • Contribute to integrated safety when reviewing or producing engineering designs. • Contribute to maintenance of client standards including ‘architecture’. • Demonstrate the use of best practice for ‘architectural’ projects and services and ensure the safety and integrity of ‘architectural’ systems within the site infrastructure is maintained. • Maintain effective working relationships with other Authorities/disciplines • Development of Directorate as a whole. • Support to Corporate activities. • Development of external relationships, as required. Qualifications • A Chartered Professional of an appropriate professional Institution (i.e RIBA). • The ability to undertake all necessary training to operate on a nuclear licensed site, including: • Site specific safety training • Project and general management training • Technical and safety related training Knowledge • Undertaking design and configuration for the life of a project. Particular experience in the ‘architectural’ design of a variety of facilities including accommodation, research and testing facilities in both conventional and hazardous environment |
