Overall Purpose/Objectives of Role
1. To provide leadership, innovation and focus on technical excellence across the system development lifecycle in accordance with customer and business requirements, legislation, human factors and business needs.
2. To deliver engineering solutions to satisfy the business requirements within budget and schedule constraints, within the framework of the Meggitt Avionics Employee Charter and Strategy Framework & Operational Excellence Matrix.
Key duties:
1. To provide leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in the development of innovative solutions to meet the requirements of the business and its customers
2. To provide engineering activities in accordance with the needs of the business and the requirements of the applicable lifecycle processes
3. To identify, manage and mitigate risks and opportunities in the execution of programs
4. To provide engineering documentation as required to support the product development lifecycle
5. To provide support to the Project Management team in the generation, maintenance and management of program plans, and the associated resource allocation and scheduling activities
6. To ensure that products satisfy their requirements through appropriate verification and validation activities, including both internal and external testing and flight trials as appropriate
7. To provide effective support, including customer liaison, to the Marketing department at both Meggitt Avionics' and customers' premises
8. To assist the Engineering Manager in the formulation of systems strategy and continual process improvement, in support of the company business and strategic objectives |
