Job description

My client is one of the twelve regional businesses.  It provides a comprehensive construction service throughout central Southern England.  They have a high percentage of negotiated work and repeat business which is a reflection on the relationships that they build with their clients working on projects both large and small.

Requirements

Based at our their offices in Southampton Hampshire, they have opportunities for Finishing Foremen.  You will report to the Project Manager and duties will include liaising with other internal departments, external agencies and clients as and when required.

Responsibilities

1. Establish the site in accordance with Contract requirements and Company procedures, installing temporary services as required

2. Regularly monitors and control labour and plant requirements against the needs of the Construction Programme

3. To ensure plant is operated by suitably qualified and authorised persons only

4. Supervise construction works, giving clear instructions to subordinates and subcontractors, to ensure quality control and compliance of materials and workmanship

5. Responsible for organising hired plant and equipment (including scaffolding) whilst on site and ensures return on completion of job

6. Promotes awareness and adherence of Health & Safety Regulations in accordance with Company and statutory requirements, regularly reviewing Health & Safety Plan to ensure Method Statements are in place and adhered to as required

7. Responsible for the distribution, maintenance and retention of records for administrative purposes (Statutory Returns/Plant Returns/Time Sheets/Allocation Sheets/Foreman’s Reports, and ensures day work records are kept up to date in conjunction with Project QS
 

8. Maintains Site Diary/Book recording relevant matters to be discussed with Site and Project Manager

9. Promotes good labour relations across the site, acting in respectful and professional manner at all times and controls day to day industrial relations, reporting significant events to Site Manager

10. On completion of contract, responsible for the disconnection of temporary services and for recording all meter readings

The individual

We are looking for individuals who have proven experience as Finishing Foremen on building projects.  You will need an eye for detail and the ability to safely supervise and manage all finishing trades to achieve the highest standards of completion.
