What is the Role?
We presently have a contract position for a Construction Manager to work with one of the largest International Rail Consultancies on the East London Line project. Ideally you will be from a Civils rail background and a proven track record in Construction Management within Rail. The role will be site based and will have the following responsibilities;
· Manage process meetings (safety, planning, possessions, design, site, progress, risk, interface, administration and sub contractor procurement).
· Responsible for reporting on Construction Management Issues to the PM.
· Monitor health and safety.
· Manage records and periodic progress reports.
· Act as on-site “point of contact”.
· Manage on site document controller.
· Liaise with contractor to ensure works are well planned coordinated with 3rd parties in advance.
You will be accountable for the following;
· Accountable for compliance with project procedures
· Support the commercial manager with the validation and checking of construction.
· Accountable for ensuring the contractor delivers on time and to the required quality, whilst following project procedures.
· Responsible for review and acceptance of method statements in conjunction with the Engineering and Safety Manager.

What Skills do I need?
· A degree in Civil Engineering
· Preferably a Chartered Engineer however this is not essential
· A minimum of 6 years experience on heavy civils projects
· Ideally 3 years Rail and Tunnel experience
· Construction management experience
· Leadership skills
· Good communication skills
· Influence and persuasion skills
· Knowlodge of industry standards and processes
· Results focused
