Service/Commissioning Engineer - Overseas and UK working - electrical/electronics qualifications or background/experience - home based but, preferably, able to commute to Basingstoke occasionally - Salary package up to £40K
We are looking for a Service/Commissioning Engineer with a HNC or HND level in electrical/electronics (or equivalent experience) and a wide range of general Mechanical skills.
Candidates for the Overseas Service/Commissioing Engineer's position should have good familiarity with Oscilloscopes and all types of electrical test equipment and good PC and PLC skills.
Also required is knowledge of one or more of the following - motor control, UPS or large power supplies. Knowledge of Radio-frequencies, EMC, PLC's, Mechanical handling and Water cooling systems would be useful.
This role will require the post holder to spend 60% of his/her time away from base (which includes travelling to and from sites which are mostly overseas) and candidates should be capable of working under pressure and prepare to stay away from home until the job is done
The role will involve installing/commissioning and repairing high power (1kW to 4MW) Induction heating and welding units that are used for a wide variety of industrial processes world wide. (Extensive and detailed equipment training will be provided).
You will need to be multi-disciplined and, preferably, with some knowledge of Power Electronics, Electronics, Radio-frequencies, EMC, Mechanical handling systems and Water cooling systems. In practice because of the size of the units the work is as much mechanical as electrical but you will need electrical qualfications/background rather than mechanical.
You will be responsible to the Customer Services Manager via the Technical Co-ordinator and work within a dedicated Customer Service team. Working away in the UK or overseas is a fundamental requirement and you should expect to be working away approximately 60% of the time. When in the UK and not working the Service/Commisssioning Engineer can either go into the factory at Basingstoke or take calls at home
