Plant Support Engineer - Based in Shoreham

Our Client is a global leader in the world of power generation and sets the benchmark for innovative and environmentally friendly technologies.
The company designs, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art products and systems to the power generation - for gas, coal, and hydro power plants - and industrial markets

Your Role is:

You will be based at Shoreham, a 400MW combined-cycle gas turbine power station, your role will be to provide on site operation and maintenance support services.
As a Plant Support Engineer you will support the client in the operation, maintenance and repair of the power station and associated equipment.

Educational Requirements

  • You will hopefully be qualified to degree level in mechanical or electrical engineering or have equivalent experience.


  • Ideally you will hopefully have some experience of commissioning, operation or maintenance of a gas turbine or combined cycle power station and possess sound knowledge of power station equipment and operation and maintenance activities.


  • Knowledge of relevant power generation legislation would be an advantage and you should possess good analytical, problem solving, organisation, planning, and communication skills.


  • Main Tasks Include:

  • providing technical guidance and support on operational and maintenance issues


  • assisting the client with improving operation and maintenance procedures


  • supporting C&I maintenance engineers in maintaining the customer's gas turbine and steam turbine DCS


  • analysing incident reports and suggesting appropriate actions


  • analysing operational data and recommending any necessary corrective actions


  • assisting the client with planning and execution of maintenance activities


  • coordinating the preparation and planning of planned and unplanned inspections


  • managing stock of spare parts and ensuring spares are available when required


  • ensuring the client is made aware of all equipment modifications and technical matters


  • assisting with the identification and delivery of training to employees working on site


  • Salary Details
    depending on experience and ability (not allowed to advertise please call for more details)

    Hours of Work
    37 hours per week.(flexi-time)



    Holiday Entitlement
    25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays - agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
