Excellent opportunity for a Senior Bid Manager to manage a team of internal and external bid writing/marketing staff, leading all aspects of the new business process for the Social Housing and Building Services Division.

My client has over 35 years experience of working in occupied homes for social housing landlords and are a leading player in this field. These services include both maintenance and refurbishment works.

 
Duties:


- To lead and manage the process of pre-qualification, tender, method statements and business proposals for submission to clients
- To manage a team of external bid writers and internal marketing staff, making effective use of budgets and monitoring progress to ensure value for money
- To represent company at bidders' conferences and provide reports to assist adjudication of tenders
- To liaise with the estimating team to ensure the proposal reflects the tender price
- To develop bids tailored to the requirements of each client and ensure the bid is delivered on time and to the highest quality standards
- To develop the presentation of submission documents
- To  liaise with clients and consultants throughout the bidding/tender process
- To manage a CD library for use in proposals and tender method statements
- To liaise with operational teams to ensure proposals are practical, cost effective and capture current best practice
- To understand the requirements, objectives and key drivers of clients and prospective clients
- To produce technical reports and case studies
- To work with the implementation team during deployment and initial stages of delivery to ensure the proposal is adopted by the operational team
- To progress correspondence from clients and other bodies as appropriate


Person specification:

·Knowledge of the Social Housing and Building Services (M&E maintenance and installation) sectors
·Experience of leading the bid process for contracts ranging from £0.25m to £10m value per annum and managing a small team
·Excellent writing skills with experience of writing all technical and non-technical input for pre-qualification questionnaires, tenders, method statements and proposals
·Proven analytical skills to assimilate a varied range of technical data and produce clear, concise summaries, working alongside the estimating team
·Excellent communication skills and experience of presenting to large and diverse audiences
·Networking skills both internally and externally in order to capture market intelligence and best practice
·Experience of managing external contractors
·Experience of managing budgets
·Project management skills in order to handle a wide variety of tender submissions to high quality standards with competing deadlines
