We are looking for a Business Unit Development Manager with significant experience in the HV installation marketplace, good customer facing skills and a willingness to travel
Candidates for the role of Business Unit Development Manager will preferably be educated to degree level but HV experience is of more importance
Ideally candidates should have a good knowledge of the electrical industry, but anyone who has worked for another large utility (gas, water etc) in a similar business development role would be considered too
It is more important that candidates for the position of Business Unit Development Manager have excellent commercial awareness and strong previous experience of supervising a team of Engineers.
Reporting to the HV Systems - Services Business Unit Manager the Development Manager (electrical, gas, water) will be responsible for the development of maintenance and services business within the London and Southern area including the delivery of all maintenance projects
The successful candidate will have a team of six direct reports plus allocated oil mechanics and jointers and will be fully responsible for their management whilst they are allocated to the services teams.
Specific duties will include development and maintenance of the local client network of contacts to maintain and increase the present market share for existing maintenance business and assisting the Commercial function in developing new business with existing and new clients
Key responsibilities are:
* Maintaining and developing the local client contact base * Management of the cables maintenance business * Management and monitoring performance of direct reports * Approval of time sheets for sub-contractors * Provision and expediting approval of billing documents * Management of site SHEQ * Reviewing the maintenance scope of works and preparing the initial budget assessments * Monitoring performance of subcontractors * Monitoring, measuring and development of the services business * Provision of KPI data and supply of financial forecasting information
