Consultant Metallurgist
Our Client is a global company delivering world class value to its Members, through research, consultancy and training services in welding and joining, engineering, NDT inspection, materials, surfacing, and lifecycle integrity - respected for its expertise, professionalism and independence.
One of our clients Subsidiary companies are now looking for a Consultant Metallurgist. They are an independent commercial UKAS accredited testing Laboratory offering a mechanical and metallurgical testing service to a diverse range of industries. Consultancy clients include insurance companies, government agencies, shipping and plant asset management companies.
You're Role:
Joining a small and successful commercial subsidiary company, you must have a proven track record in either an industrial or technology support environment. Hopefully you will have wide technical experience, which is likely to have been gained in a previous senior industrial or commercial consultancy capacity.
Main Tasks:
Metallurgical failure analysis
Project and resource management
Technical report writing
Client liaison and business development
Capital equipment insurance claims loss adjustment
Preparing and delivering experts testimony in commercial litigation
Requirements
Hopefully you will have a degree in a metallurgical or materials related subject or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will hopefully be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the commercial testing industry, preferably from a consultancy background
Ideally you will have experience of failure analysis and consultancy projects
Client facing skills.
