One of the UK’s leading main contractors with an annual Group turnover in excess of £500 million are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
Although the main office is based in Hertfordshire, the work will cover much of London and the South East. This is a real opportunity to build a career with a large organisation who can nurture and develop your skills and abilities.
As an AQS, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including Civil Engineering, Building, Utilities, Rail and PFI/PPP ranging from £5 - £100 Million in value.
Responsibilities:
• Providing pre and post contract Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services, undertaking own projects and providing support to other members of the team. • Assisting in final account negotiation/ settlement and preparation of financial reports. • Maximising profitability by assisting the QS/SQS. • Procurement of Subcontractors including preparation of comprehensive tender documentation, ensuring timely returns, full analysis and comparisons with recommendation to QS. • Commercial management of Subcontractors including measurement and valuation of works, notifications and payments. • Preparing liability calculations. • Assisting in the review and pricing of variations and maintaining adequate records. • Sending out sub contract enquiries and preparing analysis of results for review with Senior Site team. • Payments of sub contractors and assisting in drafting sub contract terms and conditions. • Site measurement and quantity take off's from drawings, assist with monthly applications of payments and CVR reporting.
