What is the Role?

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Rail Engineer in order to help successfully deliver civil and structural engineering solutions to a range of clients in the Anglia, London and South East. You will be based from our clients Stevenage office.

The buoyant workload and variety of work, for the maintenance and new works of infrastructure in the rail environment, is both challenging and exciting.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake the following key activities:

· Production of feasibility through to detailed design solutions
· Report writing.
· Use of design software, including SuperStress.
· Manual calculations and analysis.
· Management of CAD resources
· Mentorship of junior staff.
· Client liaison.
· Liaise with internal and external sub contractors
· Involvement with cost management, tenders, invoicing of projects
· Client presentations.
· Supervision of site work.
· Undertake safety critical responsibilities within a railway environment.

Who are the likely candidates?

Ideally you will have experience in the following;

· Practical experience of railway civil engineering works within a consultancy environment.
· Design / assessment / inspection of structures
· Design of drainage and earthworks
· Knowledge of setting out and stressing
· Experience of managing programmes of work on time and within budget
· Rail industry would be an advantage

What Skills do I need?

The successful candidate should be able to:
· Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
· Good IT skills, including MS Office
· Good attention to detail
· Flexibility in working patterns
· Excellent communication skills
· Lead a team of engineers.
· Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline
· Driving license essential
