What is the Role?
As a Senior Bridge Engineer you will be responsible for a medium size team, which consists of junior employees, as well as technicians. You will have full responsibility over this team and will be expected to control the employees with very little responsibility.
The majority of the projects that you will be working on will be maintenance and refurbishment. Therefore you will need to have in depth knowledge of bridge design, as well as the imagination and ability to be innovative. The ability to communicate these innovative design ideas with junior staff will be essential for this vacancy, and therefore you will need to have the communication skills to express ideas with junior level staff.
The company was created through a joint venture of two other large organisations. Therefore, you will be working alongside other senior employees, from both these two organisations, who will have much experience in the Bridge related field. Who are the likely candidates?
A likely candidate will have achieved Chartered status, or be able to show workable progress to accomplishing this. You will need to have 5-10 years experience in bridge design, and those who can also show experience in structures design will be favoured.
The ability to run and control a team is needed, and therefore you will to have previous experience in team building and development.
