This large multi-disciplinary consultancy has an opportunity for a Senior Rail Engineer in order to help successfully deliver civil and structural engineering solutions to a range of clients in the South East
The workload is challenging, exciting and varied and includes the maintenance and new works of infrastructure in the rail environment.
You will be required to undertake the following key activities:
• Production of feasibility through to detailed design solutions
• Report writing.
• Use of design software, including SuperStress.
• Manual calculations and analysis.
• Management of CAD resources
• Mentorship of junior staff.
• Client liaison.
• Liaise with internal and external sub contractors
• Involvement with cost management, tenders, invoicing of projects
• Client presentations.
• Supervision of site work.
• Undertake safety critical responsibilities within a railway environment.
You will have practical experience of railway civil engineering works, preferably within a consultancy environment, including:
• Building / structures design and / or assessment
• Building / structures inspection
• Drainage and earthworks design and remediation
• Surveying / setting out
• Experience of managing programmes of work on-time and within budget
• Experience of the rail industry would be advantageous, but is not essential
You should also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good IT skills, including MS Office. Good attention to detail. Flexibility in working patterns and excellent communication skills.
With regards to qualifications you should have a Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline, a driving license and ideally PTS (not essential).
