Job Description The Atkins Network Development team based in Winchester is focused on providing a unique, fully managed service for their key client Southern Water. As the Principal Wastewater Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for key interfaces with both the Developer and the Water Company, you will need to use you skills to manage all complex wastewater-related work arising from developer applications regarding large scale sewer requisitions, sewer diversions, on-site sewer adoptions and politically sensitive developments.
Requirements Qualifications - B.Eng in Civil Engineering or water based subject.
- Ideally Chartered Engineer (ICE or CIWEM) or working towards.
- Must have a recognisable amount of relevant and successful experience in the UK Water Industry, ideally in a Project Management or Senior Wastewater design role.
Technical Knowledge We require experience of: - Good working knowledge of the Water Industry Act 1991, primarily with regards S98 requisitions’, S185 diversions S104 Adoptions.
- Experience in a sewerage environment.
- Understanding of implementing and managing quality and monitoring systems.
Responsibilities
- The management of responses to notices served on Southern Water under S98 (sewer requisitions) and S185 (sewer diversions) arising from developer applications.
- The vetting of designs and management of all submissions relating to sewers, pumping stations, surface water systems and WTW’s offered for adoption under Sections 104 and 102 of the Water Industry Act 1991.
- Production of detailed quality plans to ensure compliance with Client and Developer requirements
- Liaison with developers and Client organisations to ensure the efficient delivery of any capital works, responding to directions in a professional and customer focused manner.
- Responsible for working with the rest of the Network Development team in advancing our technical capability to the highest standard.
