About the Role
To manage geotechnical design work especially in a railway environment.  You will manage the work of a geotechnical team in undertaking geotechnical desk studies and feasibility studies, ground investigation, geotechnical design and expert witness work.

About You
The successful candidate will have significant experience of geotechnical design work particularly for work in a railway environment.  You will have knowledge of geotechnical software (e.g. for retaining wall design, settlement analysis etc) and Project management experience in connection with the management of geotechnical projects.
Qualifications will include a degree in Civil Engineering, MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, soil Mechanics or similar and PTS.
You will also need to demonstrate Design management ability, have a good understanding of geotechnical risk and
Marketing/promotional and presentational skills.

The Company's geotechnical specialists provide a service to other sections of the firm as well as undertaking direct geotechnical commissions for many outside bodies such as government departments, local authorities, financial institutions, other consulting engineers, contracting and commercial organisations and private individuals. Projects range from a foundation assessment for a single building to the geotechnical aspects of major projects such as new towns, highways, prestigious structures, airports and bridges.
