This project offers the unique opportunity for a wide range of exposure in the management of some 187 highway structures, together with scope to utilise transferable skills in support of the wider services to the client. This contract also offers excellent opportunities for individuals to develop and progress within the company.
Managing the routine maintenance of highway structures;
Managing the passage of abnormal loads throughout the Borough;
Instructing and supervising works of the highway maintenance contractor;
Maintaining records of the highway structures assets;
Design and supervision of capital maintenance schemes;
Assessment of highways where necessary to meet requirements
Ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards
You will either need to be qualified with a degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or HNC/HND with good and appropriate exposure working on highway design projects preferably at tender and detailed design stages
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications
Candidates will need to be familiar with several aspects of design which may include highway alignment and junctions, safety barrier, drainage, pavement, traffic signs
A working knowledge of the DMRB design standards and MMHW specifications.
Should be working towards CEng MICE or IEng status.
Good communication, client handling and interpersonal skills are also important
