Mott MacDonald have a total Light Rapid Transit capability including comms, power supply, infrastructure, rolling stock, operations and procurement.
The LRT team is expanding rapidly and need to recruit civil engineers with highways/railways experience.
Job description
Based in our Croydon office, the successful candidate will be required to:
- Plan, design and implement LRT/highways/railways projects.
- Managing delivery of projects to meet quality standards and procedures
- Interfacing with other professionals and clients
- Communicating professionally, effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Lead specific tasks and co-ordinate a growing team on a prestigious major transport infrastructure scheme.
- Take projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation.
- Involvement in preparation of proposals and submissions.
Candidate specification
Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
- At least 3 years post graduate design experience.
- Chartered or near Chartered.
- Experience in highway or railway design projects.
- Good multi-disciplinary knowledge of transport infrastructure related issues.
- Ability to resource and manage projects.
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Have strong technical focus.
- A working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
- Project administration experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to review work from other disciplines.
Desirable qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
- Knowledge of the planning process, Major Scheme Business Case and the Transport and Works Act procedures.
- Experience of LINSIG, TRANSYT, and ARCADY.
- Ability to strategically plan transport schemes, including acting on behalf of promoters.
- Experience of AutoCAD, Bentley MX.
