Buyer required in Southampton, Hampshire - Due to expansion our Client are currently seeking a Materials Buyer to join our busy and friendly Buying Team at Head Office in Southampton. You will be responsible for materials procurement, produce buying schedules, attend pre-start meetings, and liaise with sites on all purchasing matters, administration and reporting as necessary. You will be involved in the procurement for all division – civil engineering, airports, rail and building. You will report into the Senior Buyer and will receive help and support from the Buying Assistant and will be required to assist in the on-going assessment and re-negotiation of company wide agreements.
You will be a very motivated individual who is already working in a similar position for a Main Contractor, preferably with a Civil Engineering bias. Experience of working with a software biased purchasing system would be advantageous. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to self-motivate and achieve goals.
