Business Development Manager (Communications) required in Southampton, Hampshire - Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, with a dotted line reporting responsibility to the Communications Operations Director, this role will include, researching and forming relationships with key decision makers in customer organisations who have service requirements in line with capabilities, such that our services are profitably sold to enable the Communications Business Unit to meet their stated business plan aims.
- Formulating a cohesive plan of action regarding customers to be contacted - Ensuring they only pursue opportunities aligned with their business plan and strategy - Liaising with the Estimating department, the Bid Manager and the Operations Manager/Director regarding pre-qualification and tender submissions to ensure customer facing aspects are integrated - Making written contributions to prequalification and tender documents when required by the Bid Manager - Putting across the corporate image to the marketplace and other influential decision makers - Preparation and submission of a schedule of activities and contacts on a weekly basis to the Senior Business Development Manager - Preparation and submission of a Business Development Summary Report every month to the Senior Business Development Manager - Highlighting when wider scale contact with a customer organisation is beneficial - When required, carrying out market research and investigating new workstreams - Providing regular feedback to line management and the management team regarding intelligence from the marketplace
