We are seeking a candidate to join the company at Associate grade. You will need to have experience in the delivery of development projects; in particular the assessment of transport impacts and the securing of planning permissions with sensible Section 278 and 106 contributions. A good understanding of the role of other engineering and environmental disciplines in achieving planning permissions is also desirable. As an Associate you will work as Project Manager with a team of staff from principal engineer through to graduates and technicians to deliver projects from winning the work to issuing of invoices. As part of a growing team you will be responsible for ensuring adequate resources are available both locally and across the region to undertake the work, and then ensuring the projects are delivered to budget and on time. A key skill requirement is in business development and you should be relaxed in networking and targeting work from existing and new clients. You will be expected to maintain a high level of client care. Responsibilities Part of the Southampton Management Team and responsible to Southampton Centre Manager for financial performance of projects. Project Manager with responsibilities for client/account management and development. Potential to lead a team of skilled engineers and technicians undertaking transport assessment work on development projects in southern England and further a field. Requirements Preferred Qualifications/Education Minimum of degree in Civil Engineering or transportation discipline. Chartered status, MICE, MRTPI or MCILT, would be an advantage. Excellent understanding of the planning system. Transport focussed but prepared to work across the whole range of development planning disciplines to deliver successful outcomes for clients. Experience as expert witness at Planning Appeals. Skills: Transport and development planning and an understanding of highway design. Knowledge of the planning system, integrated transport and travel planning, drainage and flood risk issues and environmental issues.
