Job Summary Atkins is the largest multidisciplinary consultancy in Europe and the fifth largest international design firm. Atkins Defence is expanding to support various clients across the country.We are currently undertaking design services in support of an ongoing programme of modernisation and refurbishment at two major nuclear sites in Berkshire. Your base will be Atkins' local offices, while much of the work will be undertaken at the clients’ premises. Development opportunities with other clients, and in other sectors, will be available dependant on business needs and your career aspirations.We are seeking applications from Process Engineers to join our multidiscipline design team. Our work ranges from advisory services, concept studies to detailed design of major capital projects. The challenges are varied, often unique and will stretch and develop your technical and consultancy skills. Based at Atkins' offices in Berkshire the majority of the work will be undertaken within the bounds of our clients premises.
Requirements
Essential - Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
- Degree in Chemical/ Applied Chemistry/ Process or Mechanical Engineering (or related qualification)
Desirable - Suitable candidates will have a sufficient and appropriate level of previous design experience working in the nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceutical or water).
- Process design experience gained within the nuclear industry would be advantageous, however we are keen to hear from individuals with process design experience gained within other similar industries.
- Chartered or working towards chartership
- Previous experience gained within a consultancy/commercial environment
