PLANT LAYOUT SPECIALIST/ DESIGN SUPERVISOR PIPING GREENFORD, MIDDLESEX
As opportunity exists for a Plant Layout Specialist to address the principal features of the plant layout for a variety of hydrocarbon and chemical plants during the early stages of their layout development including site selection and land usage. The Plant Layout Specialist shall be able to understand the requirements of the client and the project team as defined in the scope of work and other relevant project documentation and prepare the required deliverables to satisfy them, considering safety, constructability, maintainability and economic cost.
As Layout Specialist you should have adequate experience to be able to prepare layouts with limited input data within the specified schedule and budget, as well as developing individual layout philosophy narratives reflecting the collaborative endeavours of the project team. You should be highly creative with effective interpersonal skills and initiative to further strengthen the capabilities of the department, by providing leadership and advice on site layout issues. In addition the specialist must be able to prepare and give presentations to clients and other disciplines and respond to comments on the layout in an open forum.
To succeed as Plant Layout Specialist, you should be qualified to HNC level minimum in Mechanical Engineering and highly experienced in the preparation and presentation of complex site layouts including but not limited to; LNG, LPG, GTL, Olefins Ammonia / Urea, General Refinery Boiler plant and Utilities.
You should have technical ability developed through practical experience gained in the piping discipline with substantial progressive experience of laying out process equipment, Piping, Steelwork, Roads and underground facilities with some supervisory experience. You should also have strong IT skills to include CAD :PDMS or PDS, AUTO CAD or MICRO Station V8 and Microsoft Excel/ Word/PowerPoint.
You must be able to work confidently and independently on your own initiative and to find innovative ways of laying out plants which are safe, economic, operable, maintainable and meet the requirements of Heath Safety and Environmental. You should also be able to supervise in a positive manner any personnel assigned to projects and to ensure standard work processes, systems and specifications are adhered to.
