Ref No: ES1018 Project Engineer – Electrical Systems
Location: Woking, Surrey
My client, one of the best known names in the world of motorsport, are seeking to appoint a Project Engineer – Electrical Systems to their plant in Woking, Surrey.
Reporting to the Function Group Manager – Electrical Systems, the Project Engineer's responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
•Engineering development and integration of electrical systems into overall vehicle electrical architecture. •Support of electrical distribution system covering circuits, wiring/fusing and electrical packaging. •Supplier management and co-ordination. •Vehicle diagnostics support using CAN and OEM diagnostic tools. •Planning and implementation of system testing and validation throughout the development lifecycle. •Provision of support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments.
The successful candidate for the role of Project Engineer – Electrical Systems will have:
•A proven track record of system/component design and delivery within an automotive electrical engineering environment. •Demonstrable understanding of electrical vehicle architectures and underlying network and diagnostic technologies. •Experience of full product lifecycle activities including cost & weight and supplier management. •Experience of system/component delivery within a APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc). •Demonstrable experience of working within a cross-functional team environment. •Experience of working in/for low–medium volume vehicle projects (less than 5,000 units per annum).
The successful candidate for the role of Project Engineer – Electrical Systems will have:
•Strong communication and co-ordination skills and be at ease co-ordinating a team of engineers and suppliers. •CANalyser (or similar) experience. •Practical understanding of diagnostic protocols and use of diagnostic tools. •Ambition, self-motivation and the ability to work well under own initiative.
Qualifications/Training
•Electronics, Software Engineering, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours Engineering Degree •Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered
Salary: c£40,000
