Producing design solutions
Drawing up design solutions for products within the given concepts framework and ensuring that the Bühler standards are used. Standardise by adapting existing product functions and manufacturing process. Assess and co-ordinat support from the responsible departments in considering function, material, production-technics (manufacturability analyses), economic and patent law aspects when designing solutions. Drawing up the necessary time frame and, if necessary, presentation of selected detailed alternatives. Design examinations, lead DFMEA and design review of functions, arrangement and construction; selecting/modifying elements. Producing drawings and parts lists, generation and maintenance of master data in the PDM system. Drawing up the PPAP requirements. Ensuring product documentation is within the organisational requirements framework. Co-operating in drawing up the DVP&R test plans for in-house and purchased parts.
Prototype definition
Defining prototypes by way of drawings and parts lists and ensuring that these are produced. Drawing up the prototype control plan. Ensuring experience feedback.
Continuous improvement/
Design optimization
Analysing and evaluating reports and documents to optimize existing products and components. Drawing up and co-ordinat-ing draft design solutions. Initiating measurements, trials and functional testing. Following corresponding special requests and statistical peculiarities (worst case sample), verify existing designs, producing new designs and co-ordinating design solutions. Stipulating the materials and production processing and initiating tests.
Completing calculations
Completing or initiating calculations for strength, service life, wear, dimensioning (tolerance calculations, interfaces and structural space) and weight of the parts to be constructed. Evaluating the results and adapting design solutions
