Job purpose:
To provide a first class quality control service for composites operation including:
- management and feedback of production and production related quality issues
- conformity to drawing
- part trace ability
- accurate recording of information
Key responsibilities:
• Work with the composites, production and quality manager to establish a quality and inspection concept and tools to increase quality standards
• Maintaining the quality system and quality manual
• Establishing and maintaining ISO9000 2000 certification
• Dimensional inspection of sensitive and safety critical components to customer's drawing and specifications
• Visual and dimensional inspection of non sensitive components to customer's drawing and specifications
• Responsible for the programming and operation of the co-ordinate measuring machine where appropriate
• Liaison with engineering, internal manufacturing and suppliers
• Calibration of inspection and workshop tools and equipment
• Responsible for the filing of all inspection documentation, part trace ability information and the recording of suppliers quality performance
• Provide first off inspection for in house manufacturing
• Ad hoc duties as specified by composites and / or quality manager
• Manager planned significant growth in quality standards
• Ensure smooth day to day running of the small batch based manufacturing operation plus one off prototypes
• Ensure health and safety legislation is adhered to
• Manage image and quality of the site
Professional qualifications / training:
• Inspection background
• CMM trained on PC-DMIS would be advantage
Knowledge / experience:
• Previous experience as a composites inspector
• Manufacturing background with batch production
• Motorsport background or specialist automotive, or aerospace background
Salary on offer is £20,000 to £24,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits.
