Tasks The primary tasks of the Software Manager are o to manage our software team who have responsibility for providing: Systems functional architecture infrastructure, Measurement software Interfacing and DUT simulation software Test Results and analysis System calibration and verification o to own the software development process, providing. Regular reporting to line management liaison with Project Team Leaders (PTL) and Project Managers. Test System Software Strategy Oversight of the software development status Adherence to Operational project needs Impetus for process improvement
Qualification and Skills 5-years minimum theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the design and implementation of Software for Automated Test Systems Minimum Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Science subject Demonstrable Project and Man Management Skills Good interpersonal and team skills Knowledge of commercial Software Packages Test Stand, Lab View, HP VEE, HT Basic, Math Cad, Mat Lab SourceSafe Operating System Environments: Windows, UNIX, NT SUN Networking: LAN, USB, GPIB, .NET, [URL Removed] Excellent Communication skills verbal and written at all levels, including writing System design documents, Technical notes and Test Procedures & Reports, and negotiating win-win situations with internal customers & suppliers
Responsibilities Resource/Operational Management: Ensure that the required software skills are available to meet the demand of all programmes Ensure the verification and maintenance of all software schedules and budgets including reports Ensure appropriate training is provided to the software team and controlled to company processes Technical Management: Manage the software requirements and design reviews Advise on design product improvements Review, and authorise for use, the Software documentation for the full product life cycle (analysis and design through to validation and delivery) Track Software issues and manage interfaces into other Departments/BU s Ensure software standards, processes and procedures are aligned to company quality requirements and ISO 9100/ TickIT Co ordinate Test System software applications to provide a common architectural approach for reuse across applications Evaluate and report system performance Development of Reference Documentation for test system control and software products |
