To produce the highest quality product repairs in accordance with the engineering instructions and tools provided, to schedule and within budget. To achieve solutions to tasks and problems, with the guidance and help of IED and the Operation Support team, and effectively communicate these solutions. Responsible for contributing to the improvement of repair processes and methods required to achieve quality, cost and schedule requirements. Responsible for maintaining a high degree of technical competency. Provide solutions to issues and create innovative new repair concepts. Contribute to the focus for the technical objectives of the Operation Support group.

Skills Required for the Job
ONC or equivalent qualification in Electronics or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with at least 4 year's experience, Or HNC/HND Electronic Engineering. Experience of RF measurement techniques, RF subsystems Electronic Control and Monitoring subsystems, High Power Amplifiers, and if possible Satellite Communication Systems. Experience of wiring, with good soldering skills Repair technicians need the ability to acquire new skills and knowledge rapidly, to be possessed with strong problem solving skills and to be able to think easily at a conceptual level.
Computer literate, working knowledge of Word & Excel
Main Activities To carry out component level repair and test of a wide range of military satellite communications ground equipments as part of the Repair Workshops team, supporting various long term repair contracts. The applicant must be familiar with a wide range of electrical/RF test and measurement equipment. Occasional off-Site work or training may be required. Perform the repair activities required as instructed by the Operation Support Manager Ensure that the quality standards and methodology are upheld Contribute to improvements to existing processes, Contribute to improvements to existing methods Opportunity to become involved in R&D activities. Solve technical problems. Update/maintain repair records in TEAMS database Support the Project activity by providing electrical or mechanical engineering support Establish links with Operations Technicians on Poynton site and assist them as required or call upon their assistance/expertise as required.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: ONC or equivalent qualification in electronics, working knowledge of RF measurement techniques, good soldering skills, PC literate (working knowledge of MS word & excel), current UK driving licence.
Desirable: HNC/HND Electronic Engineering. Experience of wiring.
Previous Experience
Essential: Experience in a test/repair role. Versatile. Confident team player. Uses initiative.
