Radioactive Substances Specialists - Oxford, Edinburgh Salary – up to 50K REF:BSN009
This company has been successful in developing work across the UK and International nuclear sector in support of site operations and decommissioning. They are now seeking to build on an excellent track record by strengthening both our commercial and technical skills and as a result are now seeking three talented individuals. They are able to consider a variety of skills including waste management, land quality and environmental health and safety assessment. A sound technical background in related fields may also be suitable. Due to the nature of these roles applicants are required to be flexible in travelling to clients and this may involve short term placements at client locations. Applicants are likely to hold a Degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline with evidence of numeracy. A higher degree, along with Chartered status in a relevant professional body, would be preferred although this is not a pre-requisite. You will be recognised as an expert in your field, with experience of negotiating, or presenting information, at a national or international level. Experience of working in a commercial environment, with enthusiasm for bidding for, and winning, contract based work. A sound knowledge of the UK nuclear industry, its regulators and Government policy drivers, with a broader understanding of the European nuclear opportunities. Experience of working on nuclear licensed would be an advantage. Specific skills in the area of radiological protection, including: Safety Assessments and Safety Case preparation or review, assessment of radiological exposure of the public within the context of RSA 93, land management on nuclear licensed sites (bringing familiarity with good practice -guidance, desk based and site investigations) and waste management (particularly related to LLW conditioning and disposal, optioneering, consents and integrated waste strategies).
