The main purpose of job:

Negotiate and deliver standard commodity agreements with key counterparties in order to meet ongoing trading requirements of our client's business.
Identify and deliver commercial benefits associated with Long Term commodity contracts in order to increase financial contribution of Commercial Development. Provide input into long term contracting strategies.

Key Accountabilities:

Identify threats risks and opportunities associated with contract portfolio and use this as a basis to increase the contribution made by Commercial Development
Provide advice to origination on the impact of potential contract opportunitesopportunities to ensure that terms agreed align with business requirements.
Negotiate and execute agreements in a timely and effective manner to meet trading requirements of our client whilst taking into account associated risks.
Formulation of preferred contract standard terms across all traded commodities and assessment of business impacts associated with deviations from these
Identify and implement improvements to the negotiating and approval process when agreeing new contracts.
Work with industry working groups and monitor case law to ensure that standard terms and conditions incorporate best industry and commercial practice, changes in interpretation and changes in master agreement structure.
Participate in industry working group activity and co-ordinate/communicate input as appropriate to ensure our client's interests are fully represented.
Maintain and support clear and effective ongoing reporting mechanisms for Master Agreements to communicate to Trading and Senior Management, and establish clear and comprehensive tracking facility for progress of Master Agreement negotiations and issues with existing Agreements.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Degree level qualification or equivalent, preferably in a Commercial or Legal discipline.
Extensive years experience in contracting or trading environment
Ability to digest large volumes of information and understand complex issues, extracting those key in order to address them effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to quickly establish rapport and form effective working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
Self-motivator with the ability to manage his/her time and prioritise effectively.
Keen attention to detail and well-developed organisational skills.
Strong delivery focus and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively both as an individual and as a member of a team.
