We now have a superb opportunity for a Principal Engineer to work for our client's accomplished Highways division based in Dublin. This requirement is a result of the recent success of this multi-disciplinary consultancy and you will be working with a wide variety of road projects.
The successful candidate for the Principal Engineer position will be managing a roads design team and overseeing work from the feasibility study stage to construction. This is a challenging role for an experienced professional who can prepare budgets, manage workloads and ensure the effective delivery of projects. You will have responsibility for the co-ordination of other teams from other offices and from various sub-consultants. In addition, you'll be developing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. You'll also play a key team-development role, carrying out staff appraisals, providing training opportunities, helping to recruit new staff and managing the technical development of the team.
To be successful for this position, you will be a chartered engineer with sound knowledge of road design and have a strong track record of delivering projects. It's essential that you're familiar with financial management techniques. You'll also have a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation, as well as excellent leadership skills.
