Job Description Atkins is recruiting a Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant to lead contaminated land work in Northern Ireland. Successful candidates should ideally be a Chartered Geologist or equivalent and have a proven track record in contaminated land projects, with experience of managing and delivering projects involving complex site investigation, conceptual models, risk assessment and remediation techniques to time and budget. In addition, you should have a good appreciation of the current market and legislative context in Northern Ireland. You will also be responsible for further developing Atkins’ profile within the industry, for example through the presentation of technical papers, meeting with prospective clients and networking.You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and have strong leadership abilities suitable for this challenging opportunity.
Requirements The successful candidate will ideally be a Chartered Geologist or equivalent with a proven track record in contaminated land project. Applicants should have experience of managing and delivering projects involving complex site investigation, conceptual models, risk assessment and remediation techniques to time and budget. In addition, candidates should have a good appreciation of the current market and legislative context in Northern Ireland. BSc and MSc degrees in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science or other related field Chartered Geologist or equivalent The candidate will ideally be an experienced environmental consultant with solid and relevant industry experience, and a proven track record in contaminated land projects Experience of managing and facilitating projects involving complex conceptual models and risk assessment techniques Preferably some previous staff management experience Strong technical writing skills Sound understanding of site investigation and remediation methods, and appreciation of current legislative context Publication and presentation of technical papers a plus
