Head of New Nuclear Build - £70k - £100k dependant upon experience

Our client is a household name in the engineering and development consultancy sector, and with new nuclear power stations under active consideration around the world, they have been undertaking studies as to their “positioning” with key global clients, and as a result, genuine enquiries are now materializing and proposals submitted.
Therefore, our client have now “signed off” for external recruitment (having exhausted all internal resources of their $1.5bn operation) the position of a “Senior Person” - as Head of New Nuclear, to work under in the Nuclear Power division, but to build strong relationships with other relevant parts of the business that will be detailed in due course.
In brief, the core responsibilities of this highly responsible and challenging position will include:
• Winning business that positions the client as a major player in new nuclear globally
• Building a team to lead the execution of new nuclear projects
• Leading one or more major new nuclear projects
With the business unit initially envisaged to operate around a £2-3m turnover level although after ramp-up, potentially many times this, the ramp time is uncertain, but worldwide is anticipated to be around an additional £1m-£2m pa of study work being “attainable” worldwide with appropriate business development.
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, the successful candidate will be:
• An engineer with considerable demonstrable nuclear experience
• Previous new build experience (even if this was undertaken over a number of years)
• Strong interpersonal and team skills, and able to develop and maintain valuable client relationships
• Motivated to take ownership and move this business unit forward without restriction
Location would preferably be based in the North West, although Brighton or Glasgow are viable alternatives dependant on the right candidate, with a salary range realistically between £70k and £100k (although this too can be negotiated upon for an exceptional individual).
