Mott MacDonald have delivered prestigious Buildings projects world wide including the Manchester Civil Justice Centre, Vulcan House (home office building), Maze Sports Stadium-Belfast, Karachi Port Trust Tower (Pakistan) and the Dubai Marina. Along with these prestigious projects there is also huge breadth and depth to the projects that are delivered including Education/Health schemes, and mixed used multi-storey commercial/ residential developments.

The Senior CDM Co-ordinator will be required to lead a team of 5 CDM coordinators and work on projects within multidisciplinary teams covering the industry, technology and built environment sectors providing competent guidance and advice to both, project teams, support staff and clients.

The successful candidate will take day to day responsibility for the role of CDM Co-ordinator on the offices full portfolio of projects and report directly to the Divisional Director.

The successful candidate’s duties will include:
• Preparing fee quotations and tender bids for potential CDM Co-ordinator appointments
• Acting as CDM Co-ordinator on a portfolio of projects
• Supervising other staff undertaking CDM roles and CDM projects
• Ensuring customer care, internal and external business development
• Guiding and advising Clients in order to allow them to comply with their statutory duties under CDM 2007

In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist the health and safety team in undertaking construction site safety monitoring and auditing on projects.

Candidate specification
Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
• Be professionally qualified to chartered level in a recognised construction related institution or working towards achieving this with a least a degree in civil engineering or another appropriate construction industry degree.
• Have a full, clean driving license.
• Aware of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations including forthcoming changes.
• Have an understanding of health and safety issues with design and construction processes.
• Have good IT skills.
• Understand different types of contracts and procurement methods.
• Ability to deliver projects within set deadlines and work autonomously when required.
• Ability to write reports clearly, succinctly and correctly.
• Ability to communicate in English fluently.

Desirable qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
• Experience in construction design offices, sites and an understanding of safety and CDM regulations.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• Associate member of Health and Safety Register as administered by ICE, Membership of Association for Project Safety or Institution of Construction Safety.
• Be a team player.
• Associate membership of IOSH.
