HSE / Health, Safety & Environmental Manager Are you an ambitious, career driven HSE specialist looking to gain experience within the nuclear sector? Due to recent project wins, my client has an urgent requirement for a HSE manager, based in the North West, to come and join their team. Our Client is one of the biggest contractors in the UK, they have roughly 23,000 employees in 30 countries. They are renowned as having an excellent working environment. Last year had an annual turnover of £2.3b. They provide a full range of services including engineering, high value consultancy, reactor support, decommissioning & new build and project management.
Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership and excellent personal example • Develop and maintain an effective and efficient HSE Management System • Provide assurance to the business that we are delivering on our improving targets. o Maintain and develop a set of leading and lagging indicators to direct and inform the overall health, safety and environment programme. • Ensure the current and continuing HSE capability for the UK based businesses. o Monitor (via regular site safety inspections, tours and audits) and report to the operational VP’s and to the VP HSSEQ on HSE and, where necessary, make recommendations for improvements. o Monitor any corrective action through to closure. o Ensure the identification of HSE training needs, and monitor the delivery. • Engage with people at all levels in the business to consult on and deliver innovative programmes for the continuous improvement of HSE performance. • Engage with our key clients to understand their HSE improvement programmes and create opportunities to support and enhance these. • Work with the supply chain to ensure that they are fully engaged in, and supporting, the HSE programme.
Job Requirements • At least 5 years professional experience in a Senior HSE role gained preferably within the Nuclear / related sector. • Knowledge of both ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001. • Degree-level qualified in a science related subject. • Possession of, or working towards, their CMIOSH status.
In return my client can offer a salary of up to £60,000, depending on experience and a very competitive package to go with it. They are renowned as having an excellent working environment and are highly regarded in nuclear sector with the work they produce.
